About the unit The 20 bed MICU treats severely ill patients using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care. Our patient population includes severe sepsis, acute respiratory failure, shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, multisystem organ failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, diabetic ketoacidosis, hypertensive crisis and acute/chronic renal failure. About the unit CPCU is a 28-bed unit consisting primarily of cardiac patients. We have 16 private rooms and 2 semiprivate in-patient rooms with 4 semi-private outpatient rooms. We are the only Progressive Care unit to care for the post-op open heart, Tikosyn and post cardiac intervention patients where the RN pulls femoral lines and manages radial bands.
