About The Job

The Grants Manager, in partnership with the Executive Director of Philanthropy, will manage all Foundation grant applications, research, and follow up necessary for funding priorities and opportunities in support for clinical programs and services of Elliot Health System.

What You'll Do

Grant Research, Procurement, Stewardship:

• Coordinate and interface with Elliot clinical and philanthropy staff to develop corporate, public, and private foundations, and government grant proposals.
• Research and qualify potential funders.
• Manage the overall portfolio of grants including major milestones, funding sources, and other pertinent information for the organization. Serve as a relationship manager for foundation program officers and federal program leads.
• Work closely with, manage, and support external grant consultants on federal grant proposals, and serve as the primary contact for completing and developing proposals they are taking the lead on.
• Write and edit foundation and government grant proposals, cover letters, follow-up correspondence. Crafting and submitting the interim and final grant reports by collaborating with the content expert team as assigned for foundation, government, and corporate opportunities.
• Oversee the grants program for the Pearl Manor Fund and support the committee's review of submissions for the Pearl Manor Fund.
• Identify new opportunities for funding that align with Elliot programs and mission, including outreach and relationship building with prospective family and corporate foundations.

Strategic Grants Management and Data

• Design and implement robust data collection systems to ensure accurate tracking and analysis of grant-related metrics, driving continuous improvement in grant management processes.
• Develop and oversee the infrastructure necessary for housing complex grant data, ensuring compatibility with organizational technology systems and compliance with data privacy standards.
• Lead the execution and direction of comprehensive program evaluations, using data-driven insights to assess program effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making.
• Champion the development and maintenance of a longitudinal review process to monitor grant outcomes over time, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities to enhance program impact.
• Lead and Coordinate setting up mandatory meetings, financial monitoring, grant compliance oversight, ensuring reports are accurate, complete, and submitted timely.
• Manage MJE Foundation's tracking systems for foundation proposals, government grant applications, reports, and materials in order to meet deadlines and reporting requirements. Track grants progress in Raiser's Edge and in capital campaign tracking vehicles.

What You'll Need

Education: bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred. CFRE preferred.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of grant or comparable work with foundations, preferably at a nonprofit organization with an annual budget of at least $1 million. Significant annual giving or major gift fundraising and/or project management experience in lieu of grant experience will be considered. Experience writing highly competitive proposals and securing funding from the NH foundation community and family foundations. Grants Management system experience preferred (blackbaud).
