Job Description:
As the Sr. Director, Global Tax Planning at Micron Technology, Inc., you will lead Micron's global tax planning strategy and execution. You will partner with senior leaders across Finance, Government Affairs, R&D and Operations to optimize Micron's global tax structure, manage complex international tax issues, and ensure compliance in a dynamic regulatory landscape. Your leadership will shape tax strategies that enable business growth, maximize incentives, and mitigate risk across multiple jurisdictions.
You will report to Micron's Corporate Vice President of Tax and collaborate with global stakeholders-including C-level executives-to influence critical decisions and deliver sustainable tax solutions.
We are looking for a senior leader with a proven track record in global tax planning, tax policy engagement, operational execution, and team development. You should be comfortable navigating complex, evolving tax environments and leading high-impact projects that span multiple regions.
Responsibilities
- Lead Global Tax Planning: Develop and execute tax strategies that align with Micron's business objectives, including operational tax planning, legislative advocacy, and incentive optimization.
- Manage Complex Projects: Oversee tax aspects of major business initiatives such as U.S. expansions, new business investments and supply chain changes, Singapore and India manufacturing, ensuring compliance and optimizing global tax exposure.
- Drive Tax Credit Incentives Optimization: Lead efforts to secure and broaden Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and grant opportunities, including CHIPS Act advocacy, funding strategies, and other tax initiatives projected to deliver multi-billion-dollar benefits.
- Ensure Pillar Two Readiness: Define compliance roadmap, complete structural reviews, and implement safe-harbor strategies to position Micron for long-term optimization under OECD rules.
- Tax Provision & Compliance: Oversee global income tax provision processes, including U.S. international tax calculations, local country provisions, and tax contingencies.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Operations, and Government Affairs to integrate tax strategies into business planning and execution.
- Process Improvement: Drive automation and process enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness.
- Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and manage a global tax team, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Tax, or related field; CPA or JD preferred.
- At least 20 years of progressive experience in global tax planning and compliance, including leadership roles in multinational organizations.
- At least 10 years of leadership experience managing globally dispersed teams.
- Expertise in U.S. international tax rules, OECD guidelines, and global tax policy developments.
- Experience in semiconductor or large multinational organizations.

Compensation
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this Full time position is: 194,000.00 - 374,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
