Baker McKenzie's Tax Practice is a leader within our Firm and one of the most highly regarded tax practices in the world. Baker McKenzie's Tax Practice expertly covers all aspects of tax planning and transactions, dispute resolution (both administrative and litigation), tax policy, transfer pricing, indirect taxes and wealth management tax advice and planning.
Baker McKenzie seeks a Mid to Senior-Level Tax Associate for its Tax Planning and Transactions practice. As part of this practice, you would be advising companies on and assisting in the implementation of complex cross-border transactions. You would also be drafting memoranda and opinions on the most current, complex US tax issues. The successful candidate will have 3-7 years of relevant experience in international and corporate tax issues. The candidate must be able to manage projects and work with colleagues in different practice groups and countries. In addition, a successful candidate will need to enjoy working in a dynamic environment in which they will be required to learn and embrace new, developing areas of the tax law in which there is limited formal guidance. Top academic credentials are a prerequisite and an LLM in Taxation will be favorably considered.
Requirements
- Admitted to and a member in good standing of the state bar where the office is located.
- 3-7 years of relevant experience in international and corporate tax issues.
- Ability to manage projects and collaborate with colleagues across practice groups and countries.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new areas of tax law with limited formal guidance.
- Top academic credentials; an LLM in Taxation is favorable.

Pay Transparency: This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked.
The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $260,000 to $420,000 (annually) if located in an office in the state of California, District of Columbia, Illinois, New York. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
