Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursingcare for the comfort and well-being of patients. The RegisteredNurse (RN) prepares equipment and assists physician duringexaminations and treatments. The Registered Nurse (RN) administersprescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, andmonitors patient vital signs. The Registered Nurse (RN) observesand maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, andprogress.

The Registered Nurse (RN)participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, a team member orteam leader in the planning and implementing of patient care. TheRegistered Nurse (RN) directs and assists in carrying out safeaseptic technique and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offersleadership and direction to all support staff withindepartment.

The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)at CHRISTUS Surgical Hospital is a critical department thatprovides exceptional care to patients recovering from surgicalprocedures. Our PACU has 28 bays and is equipped to ensure optimalpatient outcomes. Our facility has 33 beds, 11 Operating Rooms, 2Endoscopy Procedure rooms, and 3 Isolation Rooms. Our PACU teamconsists of highly trained nurses, anesthesiologists, and otherhealthcare professionals who are dedicated to deliveringcompassionate care and ensuring patient safety. We provide care forpatients who have undergone a range of surgical procedures, withour primary focus being orthopedic surgeries, particularly hip andknee replacement surgeries using the exclusive and less invasiveMAKOplasty procedure. We also care for patients undergoing general,ENT, eye, podiatry, dental, plastics, bariatric, and GYNsurgeries.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursingcare.
• One-year experience in nursingpreferred.
• Critical care or acute careexperience preferred
• Current Texas State RNLicense
• CPR (American HeartAssociation)
• ACLS within 6 months ofhire/transfer date (All Facilities)
• PALSrequired within 18 months of hire/transfer date (For Alice,Beeville, Kleberg, and Surgicalfacilities)
• TNCC required within 18 months ofhire/transfer date (For Shoreline)
• NIHSSrequired within 90 days of hire/transfer date (ForShoreline)
