Get to Know Your Team:

• Lovelace Women's Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation

• Performs clinical and administrative duties that assist in the delivery of effective patient care within assigned areas.
• Greets patients, escorts them to the exam room, and performs vitals and other related MA duties.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical practice and patient care as it relates to the clinical setting and medical specialty.
• Adheres to policies procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• One year of recent experience working in a medical facility performing Medical Assistant duties or equivalent; OR, a recent graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must maintain BLS certification; and if required, maintain training in venipuncture.
• Technical training in the following medical equipment: AED, autoclave, BP cuffs (adult, infant, and pediatric), colposcopy, cryo unit, disposable equipment (gloves, goggles, gowns, etc), EKG machine, glycosometer, nebulizer, nitrogen cylinder, O2 cylinder, pulmonary function machine, pulse oximeter, scale (adult and infant), spirometer, stethoscope, thermometer, wheelchair, and woods lamp.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution

• Registered or nationally certified Medical Assistant
