Job Title: CIS System Architect
Location: Utrecht, Netherlands (2-3 days on-site, 2-3 days remote)
Start Date: January 2025(or later in consultation)

Duration: 12 months Contract
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced CIS (Communication and Information Systems) System Architect to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture of the interface between CIS and the broader control system, ensuring seamless integration with various functionalities. You will collaborate with other system architects and engineering teams to guarantee the bidirectional compatibility of requirements and functionality with CIS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Concept Refinement: Define and refine concepts related to CIS needs and requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with existing CIS R&D and engineering teams to align on technical objectives and requirements.
- System Definition & Technical Realisation: Oversee the system definition and technical realisation of CIS solutions.
- Integration & Compatibility: Ensure that the CIS architecture leverages existing communications infrastructure and systems, and supervise the development of suitable solutions for unmet requirements.
- Scalable Platform: Guarantee that the CIS solution provides a scalable platform for future generations of technology.
- Cybersecurity: Apply a comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles to safeguard the communication and control systems from cyber threats.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Extensive Experience: 10+ years of experience in engineering mobile communication and information systems.
- Systems Engineering Expertise: Deep knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, testing, and validation.
- Communication Network Expertise: Proven experience in designing and managing secure communication networks such as LAN, WAN, MAN, and satellite communications. Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- RF Systems & Technologies: Experience with RF systems, spectrum management, signal propagation, and interference mitigation.
- Software Integration: Skills in integrating diverse software applications and systems to ensure interoperability across different platforms and devices.
- Military Standards: Familiarity with military communication standards and protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-188, and NATO standards.
- Digital Engineering: Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools.
