Users get personalized and exclusive rewards on purchases on their credit or debit cards as well on Abound's. The app has quietly been live in the US market for a year and has been incubated at Times Internet. Times Club focuses on the traditionally underserved South Asian diaspora. The service provides personalized rewards on relevant and best-of-breed diaspora businesses such as Indian grocery stores, OTT streaming apps and money remittance services among others. Compliance and Finance manager:
As the Risk & Compliance Operations at Abound, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our business and customers by being responsible for Know Your Customer (KYC) and fraud prevention. You'll develop and execute strategies that ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional customer experience, all while mitigating risk and supporting Abounds growth. In addition, oversee the financial operations and will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, while leading a team of accounting professionals to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Key Compliance Responsibilities:
- Sound understanding of compliance regulations related to BSA/AML, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions programs and related activity including transaction
- monitoring, customer/enhanced due diligence, fraud investigation, high risk accounts, and FinTech activity.
- Document and report the review/investigation findings relating to Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud,Bank Secrecy Act Compliance, FinCen & FiNRA.
- Investigate and do research on potentially suspicious end users by various internal and external systems (Alloy, Persona, & LexisNexis) and databases
- Prepare case files with the required supporting documentation for Suspicious Activity Report (SAR
- Provide guidance on federal and state statues and regulations E (Electronic Fund Transfers) involving areas of OFAC, as well as AML legislation, including but not limited to: Customer Identification, Currency Transaction reporting, Money Service Business, Trade Finance, crypto currencies, etc
- will apply his/her expertise and knowledge of the regulatory requirements, government
- orders, laws, OFAC systems, guidance that govern sanctions, risk and compliance practices
- Execute licensing strategy, including obtaining and maintaining new crypto registrations, and money transmission licenses (MTL) as well as ongoing management of regulatory relationships and examinations.
- Will perform daily wire transfer functions in a centralized processing environment
- Responsible for performing operational support duties of the Wire process
- Assists in creates, verifies, issues and receives wire transfers for processing, monitors the status of wire transfers, monitor for suspicious or fraudulent issues in accordance with state and federal regulations
Key Financial Reporting Responsibilities::
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to business leaders to support decision-making.
- Efficiently coordinate external audits, collaborating closely with auditors and providing required documentation and information
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes, encompassing invoicing, collections, payments, and meticulous reconciliation.
- Maintain meticulous and current financial records and documentation, utilizing advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Analyze financial data and trends to derive actionable insights and recommendations aimed at enhancing financial performance and operational efficiency.
Prior Experiences:
- 8 years of experience managing risk operations, focused on fraud, KYC, or Financial Crimes
- Proven track record of building and scaling global ops teams and processes in high-growth environments across multiple time zones.
- Subject-matter-expert in US AML and sanctions regulations, adept at collaborating cross-functionally and communicating effectively with stakeholders
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of regulatory compliance regulations and requirements
- BSA/AML/OFAC and General Compliance experience at regulated entities. Licensing and Privacy experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements in financial services (eg, AML, PCI DSS).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
