Role Title: Senior Engineering Manager - Network SRE
Position Summary:
Marriott International (MI) is transforming its global network technology to offer the most advanced, most secure, most reliable, and most scalable networks in the hospitality industry. Site Reliability Engineering(SRE) is at the heart of our global network strategy and is a key enabler to drive this transformation.? To help lead this initiative, we are seeking an innovative and hands-on network SRE/Tools leader for our Network Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team.? This leader will develop and execute Marriott's next generation network tools/alerting platform across all Marriott networks, including Property Networks, Corporate Networks, and Cloud/Datacenter Networks the global networks that power all connectivity across Marriott. The Network SRE team also partners closely with the Network Automation and Instrumentation team to develop automation solutions to be triggered by deep network analytics to detect and automatically mitigate issues before they become outages, driving further into a self-healing infrastructure. We are looking for a leader who has proven hands-on experience in:
- Leading network engineering and network Tools/SRE teams, providing technical guidance to deliver high quality solutions.
- Hands-on experience in rolling out Tools(Security, Monitoring, DDI) for implementing SRE for large, global networks.
- Driving measurable uptime and agility improvements through network operations.
- Designing & implementing complex, large-scale network and security deployments and network management solutions
- Engineering across multiple networking technologies such as routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Leveraging network instrumentation to identify meaningful insights from network performance.
- Nurturing a culture of creativity and excitement about network tools through a passion for solving problems with detect and Alert and a deep commitment to the performance and development of the team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of high-performing network tools/SRE engineers to develop our next-generation network SRE/Tools solutions.
- Owns the network SRE roadmap, participating in cross-functional technology teams to steer our Tools/SRE vision, and drive toward improved standards in our network governance and standards.
- Works closely and collaboratively with expert network architects and engineers across the larger Global Networks organization.
- Is accountable for driving the delivery and adoption of network SRE/Tools practices and operating models across all Global Networks teams.
- Establishes technical level relationships with other key disciplines within Marriott and partners to define and implement network Tools/SRE solutions.
- Manages the performance of the team members and provide mentorship for their growth and performance.
- Drives measurable business value through the development and implementation of network tools solutions
- Develops goals, and implements plans for successful implementation of network SRE projects
- Designs, implements and operationalizes network infrastructure and tools
- Acts as a network SRE leader to guide and mentor network SRE engineers in building innovative solutions
- Delivers our network SRE products on time by participating and scrum methodologies.
- Conducts research and suggests design and implementation of Network infrastructure SRE solutions and implement standard practices across enterprise network operations.
- Materializes Network SRE solutions to enhance the operations and cost structures of the Marriott environment.
- Accountable for project documentation with a focus on communicating technical features, functions of solutions and operational use.
- Works closely with department leadership and service providers to support alignment of plans with solution delivery
- Participates in and suggests improvements to standards configuration, change management processes and practices.
- Leads the development of test and implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects and tasks
- Creates and articulates an innovative and compelling value proposition so that MI executives clearly realize the benefits and transformational value of site reliability engineering/tools.
- Leads the "big picture" of challenges impacting the customer experience, including the technical, functional, and process considerations, and creatively defines the strategy to address those challenges.
- Continuously improve processes and solutions to be scalable and highly available.

- Demonstrate extensive Operational and Support experience with strong ITIL alignment.
Skill and Experience:
- 8-10 years' experience in Designing and Implementing complex and integrated networking solutions with multitudes of technologies.
- 4+ years' experience in leading and managing technical teams.
- 4+ years of experience with Network SNMP monitoring tools, APM Tools, Packet Analyzers
- 4+ years of experience in building Network security tools like Cisco ISE, Firemon, Forescout
- Experience in implementing Security tools NAC(Forescout), Cisco ISE, Firemon
- Experience in implementing Network Monitoring tools.
- Experience in implementing DDI Solutions.
- Using Network SRE tools to manage network devices (Cisco, HP, Checkpoint, PaloAlto, etc)
- Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of bigger and smaller bets across the team, while balancing short-term goals and long-term vision
- Experience in network operations team.
- Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success
- Ability to build strong relationships and network throughout the broader IT community
- Experience in the design, implementation, and operational support of mission critical products
- Strong influencing skills and an ability to overcome barriers while driving change
- Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products
- Experience in developing technology roadmaps and strategies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders and IT teams
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities
- Experience operating in Scaled Agile Framework
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field experience/certification
- Certification in network and/or security technologies (eg, CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, Cisco DevNet, etc.)
