Woolworths Group International Senior Accountant (Permanent)

THE ROLE

  • Book accurate and high quality accounting entries for our Asia support offices (located in Bangladesh, Thailand, Hong Kong, Shanghai, India, Vietnam and the Philippines)
  • Support AR/AP and employee expense claims through SAP/Concur systems
  • Assist with payroll accounting entries and fixed asset accounting entries as and when required
  • Assist in month end closing and reporting - produce variance analysis and transactional support for month end stakeholders
  • Perform bi-monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and weekly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with cash flow reporting and cash fund transfers
  • Assist with ad hoc online bank payments, online banking maintenance and corporate credit card maintenance
  • Support system transformation and process automation projects as and when required
  • Maintain strong accounting controls in line with relevant accounting standards and group policies
  • Perform daily accounting operations and assist in ad hoc duties as and when required

WHO YOU ARE

  • Degree in Finance/Business/Accounting
  • At least 3 years' accounting experience
  • Member of a certified professional accounting body or studying towards a professional qualification
  • Self motivated and well organised with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English with confidence to deal with both internal and external stakeholders. The ability to speak any of the following would be an advantage: Bengali, Thai, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Vietnamese, Tagalog.
  • Strong adaptive personality in a dynamic environment
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office with intermediate/advanced usage of Excel
  • Experience of using Google Sheet and Google Docs would be an advantage
  • Experience of SAP, Concur and Quickbooks would be an advantage
