Quantity Surveyor - Dublin (Permanent)

Location: Dublin, City of Dublin, Ireland Country: Ireland Rate: £70k - 90k per year

Join a Leading Construction Company in Dublin as a Quantity Surveyor!

We're partnering with a top-tier construction company with a strong presence in Ireland. They are currently overseeing a large-scale residential development in West Dublin, consisting of 5,500 units, including apartments, houses, and duplexes. This ambitious project began in January 2023 and is set to continue into the early 2030s. As they expand, we're looking for a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Quantity Surveying Activities: Report directly to the Regional/Managing Quantity Surveyor and oversee all QS activities on-site.
  • Budget Preparation: Collaborate with the internal cost planning team and external resources during project budget preparation.
  • Cost Management: Manage and validate cost reports, cash flows, and CRM documentation throughout the project.
  • Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks, fostering a proactive risk management environment.
  • Commercial Reporting: Present the monthly commercial pack to the Senior Management Team.
  • Procurement Management: Oversee procurement, ensure scope accuracy, and manage subcontract packages and payments.
  • Value Management: Promote a value-driven approach within the QS and project teams.
  • Continuous Development: Stay current with modern construction methods and technologies, encouraging CPD within the QS team.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with subcontractors and the supply chain.
  • Project QS Cycle: Ensure timely completion of the monthly QS cycle on-site.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop the project QS team, collaborating closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: 7-10+ years of post-graduate experience in PQS or contractor's office, with a preference for house-building/residential experience managing multiple packages.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of modern construction methods and technologies.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong capabilities in managing complex projects.
  • Skill Set: Proficiency in IT (Cubitt, Cost-ex, Microsoft Office), with strong analytical, communication, and attention to detail skills.
  • Mindset: Self-motivated, proactive, and ready to take on overall project responsibility.
  • Location: Preference for candidates based in Ireland, though sponsorship is available. The company values diversity and has a proven track record of inclusivity.
