Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Duration: 6 months
Location: Near Liverpool street (3 days a week onsite, 2 Days WFH)
Summary:
The UK ITS team is an arm of Global IT and is responsible for the delivery and operation or all IT infrastructures, networks, telecommunications, desktops, helpdesk as well as some production operations functions for the London branch. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an eye for detail to join our Network & Security team.
Responsibilities:
The engineer will conduct the following duties, in conjunction with colleagues in London, Paris, Singapore & New York:
Continue work to review and tighten Firewall policies and standardise Firewall objects.
Monitor performance and re-order Firewall policies to ensure best performance.
Regular meetings with ISS to review vulnerabilities and produce action plans to address them.
Plan & raise changes within acceptable maintenance windows and present the changes on CAB.
Execute or oversee change implementation.
Create detailed documentation for offshore teams to refer to and provide support.
Ensure hardware models and firmware versions of the network security devices are to standards.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
Continue work to improve monitoring, alerting & logging and provide performance statistics & reports where required.
Participate in incident resolution.
Collaborate with members of all other teams to adopt and promote best practices, comply with policies and procedures, and to plan and communicate changes following Change control ITIL process and procedures.
Requirements
Professional attitude, profile and impact.
At least 5 years' experience in network security within a financial environment.
Must have previous experience and excellent knowledge of Fortinet products.
An understanding of Cisco ISE and NAC.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and routing protocols.
Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure hardware.
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation.
Quick to learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and Internet resources.
Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT.
Ability to manage multiple work streams at once.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication skills.
Dependable and flexible, when necessary, perform other duties as assigned.
Results orientated/Delivery focused.

Experience of working with third party vendors and network circuits.
