Lead Data Engineer - AWS/Python
Location: UK (Healthcare Programme)
Start Date: February
Rate: £700 per day
Contract: Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join a large-scale healthcare data programme, delivering secure, scalable data platforms within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
Build and maintain data pipelines and transformations using Python
Design and implement data platforms on AWS (including S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, EMR)
Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineers and setting engineering standards
Work with large, complex datasets ensuring data quality, security, and compliance
Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, analytics, and delivery teams

Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a Lead Data Engineer role
Strong hands-on AWS data engineering experience
Strong Python for data processing and pipeline development
Experience working in regulated environments
Excellent communication and leadership skills

Desirable:
Prior healthcare experience, ideally within the NHS or similar regulated sector
