Infrastructure Engineer (On-Site) (Permanent)
Location: London Country: UK Rate: £50k-£70k per annum (depending on skills and experience)
My Client is looking to recruit an infrastructure engineer to provide on-site support to a valued customer in the financial sector. The successful candidate will support the client's internal IT department, who play a critical role in supporting the staff and ensuring seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Respond promptly to escalation support requests from staff.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, Servers, and desktop systems.
- Collaborate with 1st/2nd line support and other teams to ensure timely incident resolution.
Infrastructure Management:
- Monitor backup technologies to safeguard critical data.
- Administer Windows Servers and desktops, ensuring smooth operations (2016/2019/2022).
Microsoft 365 and Cloud Services:
- Manage Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with Azure services, being able to configure & maintain resources present.
Virtualization and Remote Access:
- Knowledge of managing VMware and Citrix environments.
- Troubleshoot remote access issues for staff.
Passion for Learning and Development:
- Stay informed about IT trends and best practices.
- Pursue relevant certifications and training opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance technical skills.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in an IT Infrastructure Support role.
- Proven expertise in Windows server administration (2016/2019/2022).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows desktop systems.
- Passion for IT
- Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a professional environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.

Shifts
- Shift work plays a critical part in this role, with operating hours being between 7:00-19:00
- The engineer will be part of a rota that sees them work for an 8-hour period.
- Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the shift team/manager as long as the shift pattern is covered at all times.
- Weekend work may be required in some circumstances although this would be managed separately, through either overtime or time-in-lieu.
