We are supporting an organisation within Financial Services. YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OF CREATING DASHBOARDS for this role.

This is 6 months initially.

It is hybrid 40% per cent each Month in the London Stratford office.

This is up to £600 PAYE PER DAY - it is direct payroll, so the employer's NI is contributed by the client.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, this role will be of interest to a qualified accountant with significant post-qualified experience in business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, management accounting and third-party contract management.

The role sits within the Finance division, responsible for looking after the finances and working environment, protecting the reputation and enabling it to meet its objectives.

This role has responsibility for supporting the organisation's Operations and Legal Division. The role will also support the Payments System Regulator (PSR).

Operations provides the platform and tools to enable the organisation to deliver on its statutory objectives. Operations work in partnership with the rest of the organisation to provide specialist support across a wide range of areas to deliver quality services and value for money.

What does the division do:

Operations
Operations aims to deliver quality services and support to the organisation and become trusted partners - bringing solutions to the table to develop and shape 'Stewards'.

There are various subdivisions with Operations, including the below:
  • Change Directorate - Partners with our divisional colleagues to help shape, deliver, and embed strategic, regulatory, and operational change
  • Finance - Looking after the finances, enabling it to meet its objectives and protect its reputation
  • Workplace Solutions - looking after the working environment to protect the reputation and enable it to meet its objectives
  • Communications - Responsible for setting and delivering the communications and engagement strategy
  • Human Resources - Providing human resource management functions
  • Cyber and Information Resilience - Responsible for the management of cyber security
  • Economics - Provides rigorous economic thinking, research, analysis and advice to help all functions deliver on its strategic objective of making financial services markets work well, and to assess and demonstrate the impact of interventions on those markets

Legal Division
Provides advice and legal services across the full spectrum of activities, whether regulatory, policy, enforcement or operational

Enforcement Legal - Supports Enforcement with its regulatory, civil and criminal litigation. Advises on Enforcement policy and is responsible for international co-operation and policy in Enforcement matters

Regulatory Corporate Legal - Provides legal advice and support to the on all non-Enforcement activities, including regulatory, policy and operational matters

Payment Systems Regulator
The PSR is the competition and innovation regulator of payment systems in the UK. They regulate the operators of payment systems, technology providers to those systems and the Payment Service Providers that provide products and services through those systems.

PSR promote competition in and between payment systems. PSR promote increased innovation in payment systems and also promote the interests of users (consumers and businesses) when developing those systems.

PSR are directly accountable to Parliament and funded by the payments industry. PSR works closely with other regulators involved in this sector, notably the Financial Conduct Authority, the Bank of England and the Competition and Markets Authority.

List the key responsibilities of this job:
  • Responsible for providing Finance Business Partnering to the Divisions (at Director and HoD level) and subdivisions, covering the financial performance of the business areas
  • Preparation and provision of financial management information to provide insight for strategic decision making and forward planning, presentations at Senior Leadership Team meetings and leading the planning process for specified business areas
  • Highlight risks and opportunities to support ED, Directors and HoDs to manage the financial position within the budget envelopes for each area
  • Responsible for ad hoc requests to support financial management for each area as a Senior finance analyst
  • Lead on providing financial and data analysis and insight
  • Act as the control point for the Division's spend and recruitment in line with the delegated budget
  • Lead in improvements in resource management practices across the Division and provide expertise to senior level stakeholders
  • Provide stakeholders with expert, fact-based financial management advice, strengthening and managing key stakeholder relationships
  • Regularly train and coach colleagues in the Division, at all levels, on our financial management processes
  • Pre-empt, and proactively follow up and resolve ad-hoc financial management issues. Produce Forward looking MI and financial analysis
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in the division, and other business areas

Minimum criteria

Required proven experience in a specific technical area or skill:
  • Qualified accountant - 3-5 years PQE
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to present financial MI on a regular basis to senior stakeholders
  • Proficient with Workday for use of budgeting, financial reporting and Adaptive Planning (MI Dashboards)
  • Strong excel and financial modelling skills (Scenario Analysis) with the ability to work with and manipulate large volumes of data

Essential criteria
  • Experienced in forming and maintaining effective working relationships with peers, management, and stakeholders across the organisation
  • Experienced communicator, capable of presenting analysis clearly and effectively to a variety of recipients, orally and in writing
  • Ability to assess and analyse voluminous and/or data-heavy bodies of information, scenario, and financial modelling, exercising judgement on the information available and being able to defend those judgements where appropriate, including to senior management
  • Technical accounting guidance - Provide guidance on accounting for costs, provide approval for contract, purchase orders and month end journals within Operations
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and working constructively with decisions made by others, including when disagreeing with the decision made

Required Behavioural Skills:

Desirable criteria

  • 5 years Finance business partnering experience
  • Experienced in using dashboard systems for Finance MI (Workday, Tableu and Office connect)
  • Prior experience working in an Operations Division
