Business Analyst (Contract)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £650 - £750 per day
 

Business Analyst - Regulatory Reporting (MiFID/R & EMIR)

A leading Investment Bank is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with expertise in MiFID/R and EMIR regulatory reporting to join their Controls team.

Role Overview:
In this role, you will work closely with the business and function teams, as well as second line teams, to assess the design and effectiveness of regulatory reporting controls. You will conduct data analysis, validate outcomes, and support the design of processes and tools to aid in the completion of regulatory control assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess control design and assist in escalating identified enhancements to the relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct data analysis to complete regulatory control assessments, ensuring proper documentation
  • Validate outcomes of regulatory controls assessments through workshops
  • Support the design of processes and tools to aid in regulatory control assessments
  • Assist in the prioritization of remediation items identified through assessments
  • Support the management and integration of identified remediation/project outputs into 'business as usual'
  • Ensure credible challenge throughout the remediation process and validation of result

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with MiFID/R and EMIR regulatory reporting requirements
  • Experience with data query tools and reviewing systems logic for data completeness and accuracy
  • Participation in the implementation of MiFID/R in large/Tier 1 banks (preferably in Markets businesses)
  • Extensive knowledge of transparency and reporting regimes and their translation into controls
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality documentation
  • Experience in risk areas dealing with regulatory or compliance risk in 1st or 2nd line of defense
  • Understanding of key processes within an Investment Bank
  • Ability to manage effective stakeholder meetings and deliver clear messages
  • Proactive approach and ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment
