VP of Engineering

Vice President of Engineering - up to £120,000 plus package - 5 days onsite - Central London

ITREC has exclusively partnered with an innovative AI-powered software organisation currently experiencing an exciting period of growth. Their mission is to redefine AI-powered software and data, helping businesses remain agile, cut costs, and continuously evolve their data and software systems.

They are looking for a Vice President of Engineering to play a pivotal role in scaling and leading the engineering function. You will manage the core engineering team and drive progress across three key product areas: enterprise, SaaS, and B2C developer tools.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that technical challenges faced by customers are addressed swiftly and effectively, aligning the team's efforts with customer requirements. You will work closely with the CTO to define the technical vision and be accountable for delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions that support the company's objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the core engineering team.
• Oversee the development and delivery of the company's core technology across three product stacks: enterprise, SaaS, and mass-market B2C developer products.
• Coordinate engineering efforts to resolve customer problems quickly.
• Act as deputy to the CTO, collaborating to execute the company's technical vision, strategy, and goals.
• Provide leadership in scaling the engineering function as the company grows.
• Maintain a high level of technical oversight across the stack, ensuring best practices, security, scalability, and performance.
• Lead the design and implementation of the company's platform architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance across enterprise, SaaS, and B2C products.
• Mentor and grow the engineering team by identifying key skill gaps, leading recruitment efforts, and fostering professional growth.
• Champion a culture of engineering excellence and innovation.

Experience required

• Proven experience managing large-scale engineering teams (including core engineering, DevOps, etc.) and delivering complex projects across enterprise, SaaS, and B2C product lines.
• Expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and microservices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, operations, and leadership teams.
