- Base Salary: Up to £110,000

- Hybrid Model: Remote with infrequent travel to London/Portsmouth (~2 days a month)
About the Role:
My client, a leading IT Services organisation is seeking a top-class consultant with subject matter expertise of large-scale Datacentre Infrastructure (DCI) to act as the leading figure of Data Centre infrastructure within an already world-class team of DC professionals.
The candidate will be expected to provide the highest level of consultation and act as a Technical Design Authority throughout huge scale projects for various major clients. They must be an SME of DCI, and provide consultancy on every level, from providing initial and ongoing technical architecture to the projects, acting as point of contact to key stakeholders, to see projects through to completion.
Ideal Candidate:
- Must come from large-scale consultancy or global technology background, and have heavy experience leading/overseeing multiple teams & governing major DC infrastructure projects.
- SME of Data Centre Infrastructure and related networking technologies (hardware, cloud etc.)
- Act in a Solutions Architect/Technical Design Authority capacity
- Expert knowledge of Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI)
- Excellent team/project leadership abilities (NOT a manager)
- Ability to be recognised as the go-to DC technical guru within the departments
Technology:
- Expertise in Network, Compute, Virtualisation
- Broad knowledge of DC infrastructure Tech (eg): Dell EMC, Servers, PowerStore/PowerEdge, VxRail, IBM, Hyper-V, VMWare, vSAN, Switches, NSX etc.
- Strong experience in the design/architecture of Datacentre Infrastructure
- Expert in multiple OS environments (Linux and Windows)
- Migration experience (desirable): DC to DC strongest preference, but some knowledge of DC to Cloud is useful.
Team Structure:
- The candidate will act as Principal over 6 related DC teams consisting of currently 70+ employees
