Transport Planner (Permanent)

Location: Smethwick Country: UK Rate: £30k - £35k per annum
 

Your new company
You will be working with a world leading producer of cold rolled steel products who deliver innovative solutions across diverse sectors such as construction, automotive, industrial and agriculture with the latest in-house technological support and computerised design systems. They are going through a period of high growth and require a Transport Planner to join the team and help develop the transport area.

Your new role

In this role you will be responsible for efficiently planning vehicle loads for both internal and subcontracted transport requirements, as well as supporting the Transport Director to ensure all legal regulations associated with running a transport fleet are adhered to. Other responsibilities will include the monitoring and delivery of health and safety policies and procedures, cost management and KPI adherence in line with operational requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need prior transport planning experience, be able to manage delegated projects to tight timescales, engage with multiple stakeholders and understand data analysis and E-business tools. You will also need to understand how transport failures impact the production, manufacture, and customer order fulfilment process. An Honours Degree in a logistics or business subject is preferred but not essential.

What you'll get in return

You will be given a permanent contract alongside an annual salary of £30,000-£35,000 DOE. This role also comes with a clear development route to progress within the transport section. The working hours are Mon-Fri on site 08:00- 17:00 (With some flexibility).
