A global client is seeking an Interim Director of Engineering for an exciting 6-month contract, offering £800/day inside IR35. This hybrid role requires 2 days onsite per week in the Midlands.

The Role:
As the Interim Director of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in stabilising a key division following leadership changes, while overseeing a strategic transformation and leading the business through a planned merger by mid-2025. You'll be responsible for both the technical oversight and leadership of a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Stabilise the engineering function and mentor a group of newly promoted junior leaders.
  • Strategic Transformation: Lead the division through a complex merger, ensuring a smooth integration into the wider organisation.
  • Technical Oversight: Assess and refine the current technology stack, aligning it with the organisation's long-term goals.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the successful execution of ongoing customer projects, while planning for the future.
  • Cultural Navigation: Work within a strong internal culture, introducing necessary changes while maintaining alignment with senior leadership.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Director of Engineering, CTO, or similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage change and transformation.
  • Technical expertise to evaluate and optimise complex tech environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with senior stakeholders.
Contract Details:
  • Location: Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week in the Midlands.
  • Duration: 6 months with potential for extension.
  • Day Rate: £800/day (Inside IR35).
