Risk and Compliance Director (SMF-16) - North England (Permanent)

Risk & Compliance Director (SMF16) | Insurance Broker | North England

Finitas are delighted to be exclusively engaged with a growing insurance broker in their search for a Risk & Compliance Director to join their team. You will be reporting into the Operations Director and be leading a team of 4 people.

You will be overseeing both the risk management and compliance functions as well as implement the three lines of defence and ensuring all operations remain within the regulatory framework. You will also be a (SMF16 role holder.

The role is remote but you will be required to travel to their various sites across the UK - travel is Dependent on workload and you will be managing your diary.

Experience required:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in risk and compliance.
  • Experience of creating risk & compliance frameworks.
  • Must have experience of working in the insurance industry - preferably insurance broking on the retail side.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships at varying levels including senior stakeholders and external parties.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing and mentoring team members.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
