Interim Head of Finance - Charity sector - Gloucestershire - Full-time, hybrid working

Are you looking for your next interim contract that gives you the opportunity to make a real difference with an established charity who is going through a period of investment? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for an experienced Head of Finance to play a key role in supporting the planning of their next 3-year strategy.
This will entail all the elements you would expect from such a role, overseeing finance operations, strategic planning, governance and compliance, but also financial leadership and advice for how we deliver shared services across our federation of charities, significant transformation projects, new business models, and new funding streams and a chance to shape the overall finance function of the charity going forward. This is initially a 6 month interim assignment, however could go on for longer.

About you

With your excellent knowledge of financial management, you will lead on the financial strategy and contribute to the overall management planning and development of the organisation's charitable and commercial activities. Proactively you will develop, monitor and manage our finances; you will also ensure the overall financial validity of our business plans and lead the budget forecast processes, cash and fund management.

Professional in your approach, you will provide an effective and efficient accounting, financial information and reporting service to the organisation and subsidiary companies. Responsible for financial control, you oversee the accurate recording all income and expenditure.

The successful candidate will ideally be qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent; you will also have good knowledge of company and charity law, taxation and VAT regulations. Proven experience of financial management gained at a senior level in a SME organisation, preferably with some experience in the operation of federated charities and non-profit organisations. Experience of managing staff and an understanding of leading, motivating and empowering others is also required. Experience of managing pension, treasury and investment functions would be highly beneficial.
