Data Scientist - AI, Machine Learning, Python - This is a long term contract opportunity for a globally operating Basel based company in the Banking sector.

Your tasks:

• Designing AI application architectures and implementing Python-based applications for various business use cases
• Creating testing and evaluation methodologies for AI applications, focusing on Large Language Model applications
• Performing data exploration and preprocessing to prepare large unstructured datasets for analysis and modelling
• Implementing, optimizing and scaling AI applications, using Azure OpenAI APIs
• Developing APIs and interfaces to integrate AI models into existing systems and platforms
• Maintaining and updating models as well as collaborating with financial and business teams

Your experience/knowledge:

• Experience as a Data Scientist or a similar role with a focus on machine learning and AI application development and deployment using Python
• Expertise in prompt engineering and developing services based on Large Language Models along with knowhow in frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex
• Familiarity with vector databases like ChromaDB or Weaviate and Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn and Pydantic
• A thorough understanding of cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, and their AI functionalities
• Academic degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Language skills: English - fluent in written and spoken

• Strong communication and presentation skills as well as a solution-orientated way of working
