Job Description

About the Role:

The Registered Nurse will be a valued member of CHCA - Travel Nurse Team, providing culturally safe care for Indigenous patients and families in remote, isolated or semi-isolated areas across Northern Ontario.

This approach includes delivery of primary care and public health services through a set of integrated and accessible health care services. Public health involves working collaboratively with community members to identify health priorities while addressing and promoting community health care prevention.

Re quirements

Experience:

To be considered for this position, you must have but not limited to:

3000 hours of clinical experience acquired within the last 3 years.

Experience related to performing complex activities in a wide variety of situations in either of the following areas: Primary/Acute/Intensive care, Urgent/Emergency care Or Community health (public health and home and community care)

Education & Credentials:

  • Recognized Canadian Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Valid CNO license for Ontario in good standing
  • Having an up to date certification in the following areas:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers issued by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
  • Valid class G or equivalent driver's license
  • Mask-fit Tested
  • WHMIS
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
  • Medical Clearance from applicant's primary care provider
  • Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance/Background check
  • Profile:

    Willingness and ability to travel in small aircraft, off road vehicles and by boat in varied weather conditions to communities in remote and isolated areas

    Being comfortable working in a rigorous and diverse work environment

    May be required to be temporarily reassigned to other communities as operationally required

    Flexibility to perform on call duties, work after hours/overnight, and on weekends as required

    Eager to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position
