Overview:
In this full time, clinical physician lead role, under supervision of the CMO, you will have several clinical responsibilities, along with some specified administrative responsibilities. While providing day-to-day clinical care to residents residing in facilities as well as home bound patients, you will practice and role-model ethical and evidence-based decision-making to promote the vision and mission of the company to other practitioners and staff.
Responsibilities:
Provides high-quality complex and geriatric care to residents and patients across settings in partnership with non-physician practitioner and other interprofessional team members to an identified panel of patients across various assisted living and skilled nursing facilities
Keeps high engagement with facility leadership teams, nurse practitioners/physician assistants, patients, and families
Provides collaborating physician duties for on average of 5 but up to 15 nurse practitioners and physician assistants (based on state regulatory parameters) to support them in their clinical roles
Based on state and regional regulatory frameworks, audits up to 10% of practitioner medical orders and/or documentation for each provider monthly
If needed, assumes medical directorships for skilled and/or other senior living facilities
Helps identify new growth opportunities with skilled facilities and/or other senior living facilities in the market/region
Participates in company frontline/backup call processes for timely response to acute changes of condition to prevent avoidable hospital transfers, or to meet other clinical needs
Keeps a high focus on quality outcomes including but not limited to care path compliance and productivity, prevention of avoidable transfers and decrease in polypharmacy and costs of care
Attends required trainings, and meetings as mandated by the CMO or other leaders to assure best care delivery by the company
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of medicine and is a Doctor of Medicine
Two or more years of administrative leadership experience in healthcare
Clinical medical experience of seven years or more preferred
Certifications/License/Other Special Requirements
Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Geriatrics; qualification in Geriatrics preferred
Practicing physician currently licensed under the provisions of the State Board of Medicine
Active unrestricted licensure to practice in state of employment
Current Drug Enforcement Administration registration
Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare support staff
Ability to treat patients and their families with compassion and understanding
Ability to work for long periods of time with patients who need special attention
Ability to display patience with children and adult patients who fear medical treatment
Excellent computer and electronic record-keeping skills
Excellent organizational and management skills
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and cognitive abilities
