Manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the plant operations and facilities maintenance functions. The Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager and will supervise the skilled trades team over multiple shifts. Daily responsibilities will include:
Lead the maintenance team's safety program; suggest and apply safety improvements
Monitor and improve key metrics like preventive maintenance (PM) compliance, equipment uptime, and maintenance costs
Hold staff accountable, provide updates and ensure tasks, work orders, and projects are followed through
Promote continuous improvement through activities like problem-solving, 5S, and Lean practices
Support the development of maintenance staff by providing training, evaluating skills, and offering access to learning resources
Oversee spare parts inventory and perform regular inventory checks
Maintain the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to handle PMs, work orders, and spare parts
Offer support of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in order to improve uptime
Perform other duties as needed
Candidates should be interested in coaching and mentoring their team while holding them accountable to goals and projects. This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 75% of their day, potentially more during preventative maintenance projects. Individuals should have excellent floor communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with front line associates. REQUIREMENTS for the Maintenance Supervisor:
1. High school diploma or GED
2. At least three years of similar maintenance management experience at a manufacturing site
3. Supervision experience
4. Strong mechanical troubleshooting, ideally electrical troubleshooting as well
5. Experience with preventative maintenance programs highly preferred
6. Microsoft Office, including Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. PLC and/or automation experience
2. Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
