Job Title: Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Requirements & Acceptance)

What you'll be doing:
- Provide expert knowledge in system requirements and acceptance activities, ensuring compliance with contractual and performance standards
- Define and manage system requirements, acceptance criteria, and validation events throughout design, build, and commissioning
- Lead stakeholder needs analysis and ensure high-quality system requirements align with their expectations
- Oversee validation evidence and manage requirements to ensure proper closure and stakeholder acceptance
- Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, environmental, and business standards, processes, and procedure
- Validate and document design proving evidence with appropriate endorsements
- Support estimates for project scope, resources, and governance during bids and planning
- Document and share domain knowledge to build organizational expertise
- Provide technical guidance and assist engineering management in planning and oversight of specialist activities
Your skills and experiences:
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in Systems Engineering, including requirements and acceptance processes and practices, particularly within the defense, maritime, or closely related industries, with the ability to align work within the broader business context
- Comprehensive understanding of the engineering lifecycle, with hands-on experience in the relevant phase of the role and an awareness of the complete lifecycle
- Strong technical understanding of how their work fits within the overall product, platform, or program
- Familiarity with interconnected projects, products, programs, domains, disciplines, and functional teams within submarines or similar external organizations
- Understanding of Product Safety and Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) standards and practices
