Cloud Engineer - Merseyside- 43,600 + Benefits (Contract/Permanent)

Cloud Engineer | North West - Hybrid | 12-month FTC | Up to 43,600

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Azure cloud services (AWS or Google Cloud also considered), Office 365, and virtualisation technologies. If youre passionate about cloud computing and have experience managing complex infrastructures, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and manage Azure-based cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

Maintain and optimize a multi-environment corporate Azure tenant, ensuring high availability and security.

Manage and implement Exchange Online/Office 365, providing expert support.

Lead the delivery, provisioning, maintenance, and support of infrastructure in both BAU and Project/Programme settings.

Implement and manage cloud platforms (Azure, Google, AWS), focusing on security controls such as permissions, monitoring, identity management, and key vaults.

Deploy and manage virtualisation technologies, preferably Microsoft Hyper-V Server.

Utilize containerisation technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.

Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Manage SQL Server environments, focusing on provisioning, performance, capacity management, and troubleshooting.

Technical Skills Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Online/Office 365, Office 365 SaaS, and Windows 10.

Strong experience with Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Intune MDM, and cloud-hosted technologies, especially Microsoft Azure.

Proficiency in cloud security controls and best practices.

Experience with containerisation technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.

Knowledge of SQL Server management and Linux Ubuntu.

Microsoft Certified Professional qualification is desirable.

Ability to automate infrastructure tasks with tools like Terraform or ARM templates.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or higher certification.

Proven experience in a technical infrastructure role, managing cloud platforms and virtualisation technologies.
