Saved Searches

To save a search simply click on the save link on any results page. (you’ll be prompted to log in or register if you’ve not already done so).

You can save as many searches as you like with different criteria and give each one a unique name to help you identify it later on. Along with your keywords all selected properties such as Industries, Salary/rate bands, Proximity mileage, Job type, Display order and Format are saved within the search.

You can manage your saved searches by selecting to receive them as email or RSS alerts, editing them and deleting those no longer required.

Jobs by Email

Use the search tool to find vacancies that match what you’re looking for, then click on the envelope link on any results page. (you’ll be prompted to log in or register if you’ve not already done so).

On the Setup Jobs by Email page will give you will be able to redirect emails to an Alternative email address if you wish and set the Frequency to ‘Immediately’ for separate emails each time a suitable job is advertised, or ‘Daily’ for a single email containing all the suitable jobs advertised in the last 24 hours. Jobs can be delivered in HTML or Text format or in a comma separated variable CSV file (uncompressed or compressed) for opening in an Excel spreadsheet. You can also limit the amount of jobs you receive.

When reviewing My Searches, active email alerts have a coloured icon. A greyed-out icon represents a saved search that has been de-activated. By clicking on the relevant icons you can activate or de-activate alerts, or edit or delete those no longer required

Uploading your CV

You can store up to 10 CVs and there are up to three main benefits of uploading your CV depending on which level you choose. It can:

• Speed up the application process when you see a job you like.
• Give our technology the best chance of matching you to a suitable vacancy through our Alchemy service.
• Allow recruiters to find you, as many jobs are never advertised.

Once registered or logged in, from the homepage CVs menu option select My CVs. Scroll down and select Upload CV and enter the required details. Ensure that your CV is not open on your PC when uploading.

You will be given the option to be included in our powerful job matching service called Alchemy. Your skills, experience, preferences and job hunting activities are constantly compared to new job vacancies posted on the site. When Alchemy finds a match an email containing the job details is sent to you and it’s up to you if you want to apply.

You will also be given the option to Activate one of your CVs which enables recruiters to find your details and consider you for their latest roles, some of which may not have been advertised yet.

The maximum file size for uploading your CV is 200k and file types ‘doc’, ‘txt, ‘rtf’ and ‘pdf’ are all supported by JobServe.

Applying for a job online

Every job has an online application form provided, making it quick and easy to apply immediately to any advertisement viewed on our website. Just click on the button.

You can also choose to add jobs to your Job Basket and then apply for multiple jobs all at once.

When submitting your application, if you’ve supplied information that could be used to create or update your JobServe candidate record, we will prompt you to do so. Once a candidate record has been created, any subsequent applications you submit will be pre-filled with your details to speed up the process.

You can also keep track of the progress of all the recent applications you make through JobServe. Select My Applications from the Applications menu option to view the date, reference and job title of your current applications. Your can view the original details sent, keep track of applications by adding notes and reminders, collect useful contact numbers, view the status or stop tracking the application at any time by deleting it from your records.
